Have been using this bag since last week, and I absolutely love it! It fits all my essentials and there is room left. Still missing a retailer in the Netherlands though.
by Danielle | 5/15/2017
It's a functional sleek looking backpack - everything I expected. The top front pocket and the laptop case are lined with a really nice soft fabric which is a great touch! I would highly recommend this backpack.

After wasting money on other bags that were never 'good enough', I finally found this gem. It looks great, is the perfect size for me, I'm 5'4, and it functions brilliantly. You are not going to take it on a wilderness hike but for city living, it's spot on.
by Brian | 5/8/2017
It is a great bag. Very functional for work and being on the go.
by Mike | 4/15/2017
Perfect size for when I don't need to carry a lot of things. Although the bag is small compared to the Icon, it still provides great protection and organization for all the essentials. The shoulder straps are well padded which make the bag comfortable to wear. The materials and build quality are awesome and the simple design looks great.

I brought my my second City Compact Backpack due to major zip cracking on my first one. I real love this bag with simple & elegant appearance, useful & thoughtful layout of interior, and great backpack carrying system. The design of City Compact Backpack totally fits my daily job style and makes me much comfortable when I walked to office. But, I would like to recommend the one critical item for further improvement on City Compact Backpack: zip system. I think City Compact Backpack should deserve better & tough zip system to increase its long-term reliability & performance.

Sigan creando productos asi.

I highly recommend this backpack. The style, the design, the faux fur -- its great for everyday use walking around NYC or anywhere! The size is ideal and it also fits more than I thought it would. Also, the pocket arrangement is really convenient. Not to mention the awesome color!

the Quilty looks very good, I like this design and color.

I have been searching for a slim backpack that didn't have a bunch of zippers or compartments. Something I could use traveling to and from the office that looked professional. Came across this pack while searching the store. I really liked the simplicity of this bag. There are only two compartments and that's it. My Macbook pro 15" fit perfectly. Love the inside of the bag with its soft interior. I would recommend this bag to anyone looking for a simple slim backpack for their laptop. Looks really professional. Straps fit good and the bag sits great on my back.

Backpack is quite strong to hold book or notebook
by Amanda | 12/13/2016
I got this backpack as a gift for my boyfriend. He loves it! It keeps all of his electronics protected and is a simple, classy style.
by Seth | 12/13/2016
This backpack is great! It's slick, sturdy and holds all of my tech. The only problem I have with it is that it's meant for only holding your laptop, your accessories and some notebooks. I'm a student and putting books and binders in the bag can be a tight fit. Thankfully I don't have many books in my classes, but for anyone that does use a lot of books, don't get the bag. I would get the 17.6" instead. Overall though, this backpack is killer! I would recommended it to anyone. I have no issues with the zippers or the durability as I saw from another review. I just got this backpack, and I can't wait to travel with it. Thank you Incase!
by RT | 12/12/2016
I like the slim profile and it works well as a day pack to carry the essentials. If you need to carry more, then the other version might be better for you.
by Brittany | 11/8/2016
This is a great backpack, especially for commuting! Stylish in that minimal way and is thoughtfully designed. It manages to be both spacious and light. Not too big, not too small...just right! I feel confident that my laptop is protected. I just received it, so I can't say much for how it will do in the wear-and-tear department, but the quality seems solid. Super happy with it!
by kazu | 11/5/2016
I think this backpack is enough to take anywhere. It's also compact so when I'm on a crowded train in Japan. I really like the material and look of it!
by Arifin | 10/14/2016
I really love this stuff, comfortable and strong, thanks to the fine material used I hope incase will make the same model but smaller to fit maximum for Macbook Pro Retina 13 or Macbook Air 13
by alan | 10/6/2016
if the bag can be water proof,it will be prefect
by Mohamed | 10/3/2016
The backpack is good. I wish it had more slots.
by Kevin | 8/31/2016
This is an awesome backpack. For a product that's marketed for compact, it has more space and compartments than I actually need. It's perfect for my everyday carry, as I lug the essentials, and still have room for miscellaneous items. The build quality rivals all the bags I've owned in the past. The material used on the City Compact is stiff and rugged, which gives me confidence that it'll stand the test of time. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a bag that provides style, comfort, and utility!
by Maria | 6/6/2016
I work in the startup world so I (1) have a lot of things to carry around that are portable (2) wires (3) am always on the go! I used to really be against backpacks since they made me feel like I was still in high school --- so I resorted to using really large purses. It got really annoying for me. So I decided to give this backpack a shot. I love it! It has enough compartments to organize my stuff and easy to keep packed to take it and go! Highly recommend to the ladies out there who are getting fed up with large, unorganized purses to carry work things in!
by Edwin | 5/31/2016
Got the city compact in heather grey. Love the look and the structure all round! like reviews before, this bag isn't suited for bringing chunky things. Laptop, documents and maybe a cardigan would make this a plump kid. well, like all other purchases, buy one which suits your needs! This is taking care of my needs perfectly
by Makoto | 5/21/2016
This backpack is so cool. Although it has a large capacity than I thought it was, I don't feel tired. I'm always using it!
by Asdrubal | 5/9/2016
This backpack is really good product, excellent..!!
by Eid | 4/19/2016
well designed comfortable to wear spacious interior
by Bob | 4/18/2016
LOVE this backpack. Fits my 13" Macbook Pro, a DSLR, a good size book and a variety of other accessories with no problem at all. Also love the color (got the heather black/gunmetal gray). Can't recommend enough for the daily commute. Durable and I'm confident it is protecting all my electronic equipment and camera gear.
by LJ | 4/15/2016
Slim, stylish, and subtle - perfect bag for city folk.
by Aris | 4/3/2016
Very easy to classify all kinds of things. Hereafter, I won't be upset to do so. The quality of zipper is not very good or maybe because it's a fresh one.
by Adam | 4/1/2016
Amazing everyday backpack! I love the front pouch. Perfect size, not too big not too small
by Cam | 3/31/2016
Just got this pack today and I am pretty impressed how much you can fit in it for a "Compact" bag. I was able to fit a 15" laptop, iPad Pro (12.7"), iPad mini (4), 2 portable battery bricks, chargers and cables for each device, pens, business cards, and a few more odds and ends. It maintains a slim profile even with all the gear loaded up. What I do like is the added internal protection on all pockets. The laptop slot is padded on all sides, even the small compartment is soft lined for protection. Highly recommended for on the go use.
by Mel | 3/27/2016
The design and space of this bag are awesome. As someone who's 5'1'' though, the back of the bag is kind of long so instead of resting on my upper/lower back, it rests on my upper back and butt. It's kind of tough compared to another Incase backpack I used to have that contoured to my back. I was really considering returning this bag, but I just realized it's over the 30 days so that's my bad.
by Allison | 3/16/2016
I bought this backpack because of the word "compact" since I have the figure of a 13 year old boy. I was surprised to see this bag have a wider shoulder stance than all of the other Incase backpacks I've owned -- the straps are sitting on 25% of my shoulder and the rest is hanging off, which requires me to hold on to the straps like I'm on a roller coaster. I like the backpack, but I'm going to need to have it altered with narrower straps and adjust them so that they meet more in the middle. The inside is also kind of a vomit color so I try to make my interactions with the contents of the bag brief.
by Curtis | 3/15/2016
I've used this backpack for just over a week. Overall, excellent design, quality and size. Perfect for what I need. Looking forward to traveling with; cramming my laptop, camera body and a few lenses in there (looks to be enough room). Pros: - Very comfortable. - Very water resistant out of the box. - The lining is typical Incase amazingness. - Minimal and classy branding (I don't like some on Incase's neon and in-your-face branding, but this is quite discrete). - Compact, but more than enough space for computer, tablet, water bottle, coat, writing materials etc etc. Cons: - Zippers can get caught due to the material, but that's the price you pay for waterproof zippers. - Straps are a bit stiff and sit high on the shoulders, but they'll likely break in with use.
by Spencer | 3/14/2016
I spent a somewhat large chunk of money on a new 12" MacBook and without needing to say, it needs to be carried in a bag that will protect it -actually- protect it. I found the compartment built in for your laptop is no joke and provides serious padding for your technological investment. The quality also that is shown in every inch of this product is above and beyond what I thought I was getting. All in all I find this bag to be an amazing companion for your laptop and what ever is carried along with it. I haven't had a new backpack in over 13 years and this one I feel will beat that record. Thank you Incase!!
by Noah | 3/11/2016
This backpack perfectly fits my needs. There is excellent cushioning to protect my MacBook Pro along with enough room to fit a notebook, water bottle and small uMacbookrella in the main compartment. The front pocket keeps all my little things organized like my pens, pencils, charges and snacks. The lined top pocket keeps my sunglasses protected while I'm in class. The back cushioning and straps are great at managing the weight and keeping me cool. I would definitely recommend this bag to a friend.
by Cole | 1/26/2016
I love this bag. I needed something that was compact and light, and this bag helps me think more deliberately about what I need to carry each day. I also received quick, thoughtful customer service that made me an incase fan for life.
by bc | 1/25/2016
A bit wider than I expected, but also lighter -- and it still fits in the too-small gym locker that was too narrow for my previous shoulder bag to go in straight , which is a big reason I got it. Definitely more comfortable than shoulder bag for the 15 minute walk to and from campus, thanks to nicely padded and supportive straps. Minimal look is handsome and non-techy. Love the slim profile and how lightweight and comfortable it is. The padding and structured skeleton keeps stuff from bunching up or sliding around, keeping it slim and organized. Only issues: pockets on side would have been nice for water/tea bottle and uMacbookrella, though admittedly detracting from the minimal look. The bottle fits inside because I don't carry much besides my MacBook pro and a couple of folders and my gym bag, but I wouldn't want a wet uMacbookrella inside, so I wound up hooking a carabiner to the strap to hang it from. I suggest adding a couple of small metal rings somewhere to facilitate such user modification. Also, because it doesn't unzip all the way and the interior is black, can be hard to find small items quickly in the main compartments, but really not a big deal for my use because I just don't carry that much; smaller items like headphones etc fit in the more easily accessible front and top compartments. If you really don't carry much besides laptop or tablet + keyboard, this is really ideal. If you carry more, go for the Icon or other larger packs. BTW I discovered the bag here https://brooksreview.net/2016/01/city-compact/, which provides more in-use info.
by James | 12/28/2015
I like this bags looks but every city dweller knows you need to have water in the summer. This has no holder and I certainly am not putting a sweaty water bottle with my laptop and tab. It also needs more compartments for gadgets and every day carry items. I dont know if anyone else has this issue but my zippers keep snagging. Not sure if this was really built to last. I would not buy again for those reasons. But if you carry only a laptop then this is good otherwise I recommend you keep looking.

I love my new City Compact Backpack! I was really excited to have this product arrive, and of course it was everything I wanted. It's funny because I went on the site looking for a new laptop sleeve, but my friend had mentioned that this bag was her favorite. I took a chance, and just love it. The super soft small pocket is perfect for sunglasses, and delicate things. I often carry my camera equipment so the extra padding that's made for my laptop comes in extra handy!
by YingYue | 12/24/2015
Good for daily use , and easy to carry all my things. It can carry more than it looks like.
by David | 12/23/2015
I really like Incase's overall design and quality, and this bag hits the spot. Not too large, but good space in each compartment to carry just what I need. My only complaint is that Incase is putting too few small pockets in its bags these days for organizing small items like cables, sunglasses, and other accessories. It isn't a deal breaker for me, but it's close. That said, the bag overall is great, and it's my new main backpack for daily commuting.
by Seung | 12/23/2015
Macbook is well protected! I also like the its design. I do not regret that I bought it from incase. I recommend this bag!
by Henry | 12/22/2015
Good slim profile backpack.
by Trevor | 12/20/2015
I bought both of the city bags, one for work(big one) and one for fun(smaller one) The quality of both is crazy good Only thing is, if you live in the city and ride crowded trains often, you should get the compact version. The bigger one brushes the backs of people on the train. But the compact version is compact enough that I don't have to take it off when I get on the train. Thanks Incase!
by Ena | 12/18/2015
GREAT backpack.. so far. I've only had it for about a week, but I had the opportunity to use it on a 4-day trip already. It is so well made and perfect for my laptop + accessories. It also has a lot more room than it looks - carried a couple heavy books and other clothes in it comfortably. Love it, and expecting to get years of use out of it!
by Todd | 12/16/2015
This bag is made with high quality materials, can fit many items in this bag. I highly recommend this bag.
by 908001059 | 12/16/2015
Purchased 3 bags on BF and feel really comfortable with these bags. In most cases, I will take my Mac within the bag, and the bag protects Mac as well.
by Esteban | 12/15/2015
the city compact backpack is amazing, it has the perfect space for everything you would want, i haven't used it a lot yet but it is amazingly well built, i would recommend anyone to get this back pack, am going to buy other product from incase for sure, keep on the good work INCASE.
by Edmund | 11/19/2015
Great backpack but the straps are positioned in a way that come off easily, especially when I try to run and catch a bus. Otherwise, it has the looks and quality.
by Frederick | 11/16/2015
I bought a Heather Black/Gunmetal Gray one. Simply love it. I am very satisfied with the quality of the bag. Incase impressed me so much that it puts together stylish looking and functional design into a single item, with a reasonable price. It is perfect for carrying books, documents, laptop/tablet, gadgets around the city in daily commute.
by Carlos | 11/15/2015
I was excited to receive my backpack as I use it ALL the time. It had everything I wanted, looks very good, the quality of the zippers is great and the back support is also of great quality. The surprise was the outside top pocket, it has a velvety interior that is great to touch and good to keep sunglasses from scratching. Very recommendable!
by Sarah | 11/12/2015
I bought this backpack for my boyfriend for Christmas but could not wait to give it to him! He absolutely loves it! I personally love the interior of the backpack. Overall great backpack for him while in law school!

Very nice material. Nicely packaged and shipment was tracked. My kids want it too!
by Gonzalo | 11/3/2015
I love it!!! is perfect to me. Great size for my MacBook and Scooter.
by MaryO | 11/2/2015
I had trouble shopping for backpacks that fit me. For example, one of the ones I brought home dug into my lower back/hips even though it was "built for a woman". I was hesitant to order the slim version of the beautiful city backpack, but took a chance because it wasn't as tall as other packs. It fits well! I feel like the capacity is still sufficient for my needs. I agree with other reviewers regarding the zipper quality and the lack of water bottle holder, but I am very happy for day to day use. Haven't used it in the airport yet (when I tent to cram more in), but I don't travel too much for work, so it shouldn't be a problem. I'm just happy to get away from the messenger bag pain!
by Andrew | 10/19/2015
Love it and fabulous.
by Kay | 10/19/2015
This backpack is light, simple and beautiful. Very impressed. I loved it.
by Abby | 10/17/2015
This backpack is amazing. It has a great cushion for your back. I am a nursing student and we carry a lot of books.. I mean A LOT, and this backpack can hold everything. I also love how the compartment for the laptop has a very soft material.
by Edi | 10/17/2015
Very sturdy, well designed product. ThuMacbooks up on this backpack Incase!
by Jlo | 10/14/2015
Love this backpack!! Can fit everything I need and still feels very light. My only complaint would be that the shoulder straps are bit wider and I have a smaller frame so it feels just a tad awkward, but not a big deal. It sits on the outside of my shoulders versus towards the middle. So I pull on the straps sometimes to make it closer towards the center... if that makes sense. I would like it to be a full zip, easier to grab things. Other than that, very secure, sleek, simple, does the job. Good buy!
by Marc | 10/13/2015
Great looking bag with some good compartments for my most & least accessed gear. I agree with another review that the back pads are a bit warm, but doesn't bother me that much since I don't travel very far in warm weather. The mesh material is scratchy/itchy out of the box and I hope it gets better over time, because you can feel it through a light t-shirt. One other minor thing is the adjustment straps are pretty long, but it's easy to fix by tucking them into the loops where the straps meet the bag.
by Daniel | 10/7/2015
Really beautiful and comfortable. It is very small, so keep that in mind. That is exactly what I needed.
by Jax | 10/5/2015
I am enjoying this bag because of its features. It is definitely a match for my needs.
by Lara | 9/30/2015
Love the backpack. Really compact while still having enough separate storage spaces. Hasn't been way to big or too small for work commuting or weekend excursions. My laptop feels very secure and protected, which is a big plus. It would be awesome if it were a little more waterproof (it's not bad, but things near the top zipper got a little wet), but great for a fair-weather pack!
by Oleksandr | 9/29/2015
I've bought this backpack several weeks ago, and I should say, that I'm absolutely happy with its quality. Well done, beautifully designed bag. I must admit, that it is not so roomy, as I thought. The main section is too thin because of notebook section.
by Amy | 9/22/2015
I ordered this bag in the color Auburn/Linen. The delivery was very fast considering that the package had to be delivered overseas. The bag is absolutely perfect. It is everything you want in a bag when you have a Mac or a similar smaller computer. The color is very lovely and bright and the bag is very sturdy. The extra pockets make for a lot of room considering the size of the bag. The bag itself is nice and flat so you can easily manoeuvre through public transport and so on without worrying about knocking in to people. Weight that is put into the bag is being divided evenly, making for a great support. I would definitely recommend this bag to anyone who has back problems, the support is everything you wish for. I love this bag and for me it is only going to be Incase from now on!! Thank you so much! :)
by Rex | 9/16/2015
a little bigger than i thought
by Mark | 9/15/2015
This is a great backpack. Compact, but still enough room for the essentials (phone, notebook computer, wallet, keys, a few pens, a few notebooks/books, etc.). Well made and solid as far as the materials and stitching are concerned. The important compartments are nicely padded to withstand normal bumps and drops.
by Destiny | 9/9/2015
This bag goes with me everywhere, it fits everything I need for the day. It's not bulky and has a sleek design, I'm 5'3 and it doesn't look like I'm a ninja turtle when I'm carrying it. I know that with this bag all my books and tech are safe, it's a relief knowing that I won't have to worry about my products breaking. It's a great backpack and would recommend it to everyone.
by . | 9/8/2015
Love it. Great backpack. Just started my freshman year at University and it's perfect for my everyday schedule. It can fit all my books/folders/notepads, my laptop, chargers, pens/pencils, & Beats headphones. It does get a little tight once I start loading too much into it, but you get what you pay for. If I wanted the extra room I should've considered the City backpack, not the Compact version. But I'm perfectly satisfied with my purchase. Love the color as well. Always get a lot of comments on the color.
by Rabeyah | 9/2/2015
I love this backpack, it is light and is safe to put my laptop or iPad. I can even put my jacket in there too. It looks nice on a tinny lady like me, haha. I would highly recommend this to my friends. But one think I have to mention is that I cannot purchase through Canada's website. They keep saying "Out of stock". Does it mean that Incase not caring about customers in Canada. Just hoping in the future I can purchase from Canada's website. Thank you Rabeyah
by Jose | 8/24/2015
When I first received my backpack i was well impressed how my macbook pro is well protected in all sides, as advertized. So I am very happy with my purchase from Incase.

it is high quality, really good looking and very useful
by Mitch | 8/17/2015
I've been using this bag for a weeks now and I'm loving it. It has great space for all my electronics and more while still being compact! I would recommend it to anyone carrying a laptop on a regular basis.
by Dylan | 8/6/2015
This bag is the best. There is seriously little to say, it's just top-notch and thoughtfully created. I really like it.
by Jerome | 8/6/2015
I totally love it. I was originally looking for a bag that could both carry my laptop and other stuff such as textbooks, notebooks, and other supplies for my studies. This one does that perfectly!! I totally recommend it!!!
by George | 8/4/2015
This backpack is stylish enough to take anywhere yet has enough storage to carry around my essentials. It's also compact so when I'm on a crowded train, it's not bumping into people. I really like the material and look of it.
by Pablo | 3/12/2015
My wife gave this to me as a present for my birthday. Gotta say I travel a lot and also carry a lot, inside theres plenty of space for my macbook 13 retina display, ipad air 2, notebooks, camera and theres space left. I don't regret of having it I'll use it till theres a need of one!
by @Martinez_TpE | 3/14/2014
It's perfect for the go. I love it because it's not in my way as i travel with it. The backpack is light and holds my 13' inch Macbook Pro with great protection. No Worries.. Just wish that the Incase Backpack came in more various colors.
by Alex | 2/3/2014
I love this backpack, but the seams than hold the shoulder padding in split near the top. Since its nylon its nearly impossible to glue back together. Also the texture on the back pads grabs my shirt and makes it ride up as I'm walking. Its really weird.
by Michael | 12/25/2013
Had this bag for about a year now. I have the sling version however, but as far as interior and design... I wouldn't change a thing. Been great to me so far!
by Irene | 12/9/2013
Bought this backpack a little over a year ago. I love the design and style of incase backpacks, and was initially obsessed with this backpack. I also found it to be very comfortable even when filled to its capacity. HOWEVER, I bought this for my senior year of college.. aka I had a lot of textbooks to haul around, in addition to my Macbook Pro. It seemed to be high quality and heavier duty than other backpacks i've owned in the past. I never filled the backpack past its capacity, and within a year after buying it, one of the shoulder straps had ripped at the base. I first started to see the seams attaching the strap to the backpack gradually beginning to pull apart after about 6-8 months. Tried to tape it together, but eventually the backpack was unusable. First time i've purchased an incase product, and was honestly expecting for it to last significantly longer than it did. In incase's defense, I did have a pretty textbook-intensive major, so if you arent using this bag to carry more than 1 or 2 smaller textbooks (in addition to your Macbook Pro), i'm sure it would work fine. I just expected more for the price, and was pretty disappointed.
by Sam | 7/30/2013
I bought this bag to ensure the safety of my Macbook Air 13" (mid 2012) and iPad mini. I travel to and from north Oxfordshire quite often so I needed something durable, but also sleek and manoeuvrable. This bag is the perfect balance. It it quite surprising that when you manage to fill the maximum volume of 20L, it does not feel bulky. Great product. Rated 5 leaves!
by Freedom | 7/27/2013
I will never use another case "Incase" is the case for me and my family!
by ronel | 7/11/2013
Light and extremely comfortable. Ive had about a dozen of different backpacks (one incase Campus too) - None are as comfortable as this one. The inner pockets leave a bit to be desired when it comes to storing a power adapter and gear i need for my laptop. I've had it for over two years and it doesn't look worn out in anyway. Great value! I'd rate it as 4.5 if possible
by Chris | 6/29/2013
It's a handy backpack. It's just the right size and is rather simple and unobtrusive. Other backpacks often have too many compartments and pockets, leaving me scraMacbookling to find items hidden deep in their recesses. But this bag gets it just right. However, there are some issues. The bag has a small inner pocket for holding electronic accessories and pens ??? it's too small and flimsy. Stuff falls out of it easily. It's nearly useless. The pocket for the iPad is also flimsy and offers little protection. Last, but not least, the zipper is a bit weak and will come off after about a year, rendering the bag useless.
